VIRTUAL MOKAN Trust Conference

The 41st MOKAN Trust & Financial Services Conference will be virtual! The three-day program has been modified to include a all general sessions from industry speakers Samuel Donaldson – federal tax update, Michael Kitces – IRAs and economist Chris Kuehl – current and projected economy. Other featured presentations include planning for unique assets, address techniques for working with beneficiaries who face mental health or substance abuse challenges, impact of the CARES and SECURE Acts, ethical hazards for trust officers and fiduciary services companies, and functional fiduciary liability reduction.  All the sessions will be presented live – not pre-recorded – and available at the conclusion of the conference.

The conference registration fee has bee reduced from $465 per person to $390 per person.

Conference Postponed

Good afternoon!

In light of the current ban on gatherings of 10 or more people due to the COVID-19, the MOKAN Board has approved rescheduling the 2020 MOKAN Trust & Financial Conference for August 17, 18 and 19.  This would be shift to a Monday – Wednesday format.  The conference will be held at the Sheraton in Overland Park and the Overland Park Convention Center.

Call the Sheraton Direct Reservations number 866-837-4214 to make your room reservations. Ask for the MOKAN Trust Conference rate.

Once we have confirmed these dates work for the speakers, a revised conference brochure will be available on this web page or emailed to past participants.

Coronavirus Update

The health and well-being of our attendees is always a top priority. We are monitoring developments regarding the coronavirus. At this time, the MOKAN Trust Conference remains on schedule and unchanged. We are staying in regular contact with the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel and the Overland Park Convention Center about their health and safety practices and are assured they are following strict hygiene protocols. We will be taking prudent steps at each event to promote the safety of our participants, and we will be prepared to adjust should the situation change.
